Dr. Kaplan is a board certified specialist in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He is also an Osteopathic Physician who is well skilled in manual medicine. He is also an Osteopathic Physician who is well skilled in manual medicine.
Dr. Kaplan graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990. He completed a rotating osteopathic internship in Detroit, Michigan, and his residency at Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He served as Chief Resident during his last year of training and has been Board Certified since 1997.
Dr. Kaplan has taken strong interest in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) and provides a unique non-surgical approach into his daily medical practice. His interests are in the biomechanical aspects of people with back pain. Incorporated into his treatment plan are many hands-on techniques to bring the body back into correct alignment. This concept integrates body structure and function.

He has served as director of various outpatient rehabilitation center, and currently oversees the non-surgical portion of Broward Spine Institute. He provides his patients with electrodiagnostic testing, pain management with emphasis on OMT, trigger point, nerve blocks and Botulism Toxin Botox injections techniques. He evaluates patients for independent medical examinations, and provides expert witness testimony. He is responsible for overseeing our physical therapy department.
Additionally, he is trained in Electro-Acustim (a variant form of acupuncture which does not involve piercing the skin), myofascial release techniques, and cranio-sacral therapy.
Dr. Kaplan has served as clinical instructor at Nova Southeastern University’s orthopaedic residency program, at Parkway Regional Medical Center, and at Palmetto Regional Medical Center’s Family Practice Residency program.
