Historically, people with fibromyalgia were sent from physician to physician, oftentimes feeling frustrated and invalidated. As the joke goes, if you've seen more that 5 doctors for the same problem, then it’s probably fibromyalgia. Thanks to a few key researchers, fibromyalgia was found to be a real syndrome and not just "in your head". However, this did not make treating it any simpler. Over the last 30 years, many of the jigsaw puzzle pieces that contribute to the disorder have been found. Assembling those pieces in the correct sequence can be equally challenging. 'Promised cures' offered by various marketing websites usually turn out to be a waste of time and money. As much as we would like, there is no single solution for Fibromyalgia. To offer a single solution is to fail to recognize the complexity of the syndrome. But there is hope! Over the years, studies have shown that certain substances and techniques work to safely relieve the person of their suffering, while addressing the root cause. Daniel Wasserman, our holistic physician, has lectured nationally on Fibromyalgia and chronic muscular pain. With his background in Integrative Chinese Medicine and nutrition, he evaluates the patient in order to address each person's individual imbalances.
